Charming Stay in the Heart of Reykjavík – Treasure B&B

For our final night in Iceland, we stayed at Treasure Bed and Breakfast — a true gem tucked right in the heart of Reykjavík.

The owner told us that this is one of the oldest buildings in Reykjavik. It’s been a danish bakery but it was called the Norwegian house because the timber came from Norway. So really a Scandinavian house.

The location couldn’t have been better. Just a short walk from everything — cozy cafés, lively restaurants, quirky shops, and the harbor. Despite being so central, it felt peaceful and personal, like a little haven in the middle of the city.

Parking was easy and close by, but quite hard to find. Maybe it was to blouse just around the corner but we needed two drives around the one way streets to find the entrance This is a rare luxury in any city center. After days of road-tripping, it was a relief to just leave the car and explore the city on foot.

Our room was comfortable, full of charm, and felt more like staying in someone’s welcoming home than a hotel. And speaking of welcoming — our host was wonderful. Warm, kind, and full of great local tips, she made our last evening in Iceland feel extra special.

In the morning, we were treated to a cozy breakfast shared with fellow travelers from the Czech Republic and Denmark. The atmosphere was warm and friendly — just the kind of morning you want to end your trip on. There was homemade bread and cake, thoughtfully prepared and delicious, making it feel like a true home-away-from-home experience.

Treasure B&B was the perfect place to wind down after our adventure around the island — central, cozy, and full of heart. A wonderful end to an unforgettable journey.
